VFX and 3DS Max master Allan McKay has created over 100 PFlow presets that ship with Max. The PFlow setups range from elemental effects for air, earth, fire, water and various logo effects. These setups are great for any artist to use as a starting point. A video showing the presets can be found on YouTube, more information and download links on Gary Davis's Area blog.

Can’t seem to get this to work in Max2014, seems it uses a different folder structure. No presets show up in my list.

The location for PFLOW presets is your true application installation location, not the C: drive plugcfg folder.

Inside 3dsmax if you type in the listener window:

getdir #plugcfg

That will return your location.

Which should be something like this below:

“C:\Users\XXXX\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\2014 – 64bit\ENU\en-US\plugcfg\Particle Flow Presets”
