V-Ray announced for Nuke and Katana plus new V-Ray features for 3DS Max

Chaos Group are set to premier V-Ray for Nuke and Katana at SIGGRAPH 2012, though little else has been released about the feature set at this point. Also showcased at SIGGRAPH will be V-Ray RT improvements including CUDA support, greater material and texture compatibility, motion blur, and proxies and instancing with RT. Forthcoming features for V-Ray will be demonstrated including deep pixel images support, metaballs, Alembic support, Vismat materials, and lens effects in the V-Ray frame buffer. This is possibly the best news all year what a fantastic idea! Now I just import my objects and I am done I am so excited to use this in nuke.
Although nuke just uses a scanline render engine I have felt that it has held back the software form being a truly unbeatable compositor.
Time to tap chaos group up for a demo me thinks!
