First LibreOffice version released

After Oracle's purchase of Sun, many developers of OpenOffice who were dissatisfied with Oracle's handling of the open source project left and formed the Document Foundation. LibreOffice 3.3, a fork of the original OpenOffice project, is the first version released by the new organization, and brings a number of improvements over the latest OpenOffice version available.
LibreOffice offers compatibility with Microsoft Office file formats and includes the following applications: Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math and Base. Development is being supported by Google, Red Hat, Canonical, and Novell, among other companies. The software is compatible with Windows, Linux and Mac OS X and can be downloaded from Libreoffice.org.
