Software download for subscription customers

As earlier reported, Autodesk has announced that software downloads will replace shipped DVDs as the default method of delivering software upgrades. Cost reductions would not immediately translate into discounts for Max users. The change is no doubt a positive move but it does raise the issue of why one should buy from a local reseller at a different price for downloading the same software through the Net.

Just to clarify – the default method of download is for subscription customers only, for their product fulfillments. If a customer is to buy a new license of Autodesk product, it will be shipped in DVD format.
