Happy Digital are offering a new Max plugin that renders realistic grass. The plugin currently only works with V-Ray but developers at Happy Digital will consider future versions for other renderers if there is demand for it, so make sure to email them if it's not available for your renderer of choice. Features include: 11 grass presets, 12 grass material presets, 4 earth material presets, no need for modeling or exporting proxies, never runs out of memory no matter how many acres of grass you put in your scene, no need need to break scenes into passes, adjustable variation, mapping for attributes such as density, length, cutoff, thatch, direction, etc., that allow to create scenes with off-road grass, lawn mowed grass, dried grass in winter and sports fields, and more.
