W3C drops standards-based video and audio codecs from HTML 5

Not all companies seem happy to implement standards-based media codecs in HTML 5, at least for the time being. Flash won't be leaving browser screens as soon as expected. Read the details at this recent message by Ian Hickson, maintainer of the HTML5 specification.
